About the Chapter: Institution of Engineers (India) (IE(I)), Electrical Chapter NSSCE Palakkad

The Institution of Engineers (India) (IE(I)), Electrical Chapter NSSCE Palakkad started in 1990's, inspired from the largest multi-disciplinary professional body of engineers at itsnational level , is committed towards dissemination of ideas, information and knowledge in the frontier areas of science, engineering and technology through hosting of varioustechnical activities at its various centers.
Beyond hands-on workshops and seminars, the society organizes industrial visits to prominent sites also. Moreover, the society actively engages in community fosteringinitiatives, exemplified by heartfelt visits to institutions such as schools for mentally challenged and many more. The spectrum of activities reflects the society's unwaveringdedication to both academic and compassionate pursuits.

ONLINE QUIZ COMPETITION - “ENGINEER’S DAY TRIVIA”

To Celebrate World Engineer’s Day, The Institution Of Engineers (India) Electrical Student Chapter - NSSCE has Organized "ENGINEER’S DAY TRIVIA", an Online Multistage Quiz Competition On 15th and 16th of September 2021 From 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. The Competition Was Conducted Using The Online Quiz Competition Platform - Quizizz.org. Mr.Abhinav G Nambiar From S6EEE, Ms.Soumya Menon From S4EEE Emerged As the Winners Of The Event.


The First Phase Dealt With The Basic Engineering Questions Related With All The Streams. Total 20 Questions Decided to Shoot During The First Phase With Each Question Has It’s Time Limit. Top 8 Selected To The Second Phase. The second Phase Embedded With Different Types Of Aptitude Questions To Check The Efficiency Of Competitors.



Webinar-Energy Conservation and Management

On the ocassion of National Energy Conservation day, Institution of Engineers(India)- Electrical Students Chapter, NSSCE in association with IIC organised an interactive webinar on “Energy Conservation and Management " on 15th December 2021 from 5:30pm to 7:00pm using Google Meet Platform. Mr. Aneesh Rajendran (Technologist, Energy Management Centre, India) was speaker of the event. Around 150 students participated in the webinar.

As per G.O (Rt) No 45/09/Envt. Dated 27/06/2009, A new scheme entitled “BHOOMITHRASENA” has been started in this state under the state plan scheme for the colleges of the state for strengthening the commitments of students towards environmental protection.

Activities in the college

  1. Tree planting in our 125 Acre campus to achieve green campus.
  2. Conducting FDPs and other expert talks for environmental awareness.
  3. Maintaining a good garden in the college with help of our staff and students.
  4. Agriculture: A small vegetable garden.
  5. Celebration ( poster designing, expert talks etc.) in connection with important environmental days.
  6. Internal Green Audit in associated with Civil Engineering Department.
  7. Campus cleaning and continuous awareness on plastic pollution and waste management.

Activities outside campus

  1. River Protection (Bharathapuzha)
  2. Carbon neutral survey and its remedial measures in Akathethara Panchayath
  3. Nature camp for staff and students.
  4. Bird Watching
  5. Cleaning in the surrounding Colonies of our college in connection with important environmental days.

WILD LIFE AND FORESTRY CLUB

Wild life and forestry club of the institution has put its imprint in the minds of student community. Making the involvement of students for the noble causes, nature conservation and environmental protection is the main aim of Wild Life and Forestry club of the institution. The club of this college is organizing tours to various places of interest and is conducting pencil drawing, tree planting, essay competition, film shows etc. on relevant subjects. Presently there are nearly 75 active members and a staff in charge in the college.


SOCIETY OF AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERS

The Society of Automotive Engineers India or SAEINDIA is India's leading resource for mobility technology. The SAE Collegiate Club NSSCE under SAEINDIA, started out on 27 th July 2019, and aims to provide practical exposure to students interested in the automotive and transport industry. The Club has been very active since its inception and has conducted many events within the campus. It has also sent teams to the inter college competition under SAEINDIA SOUTHERN SECTION. The Club has had wide participation since the beginning and had about 100+ members in its formation. Within a year of its inception, SAE Collegiate Club has had professionals from Siemens, Ashok Leyland, Hero Motocorp , KAMCO etc. The talks by these eminent professionals from industry from major companies is a notable feature of the club.

The various activities under the SAE Collegiate Club are:

* Talks by experts and professionals from the industry.
* Workshops to give hands on learning experience
* Student Convention ,conducted annually, has a large number of events as per SAEINDIA guidel
* Has sent teams for competitions under SAEINDIA such as aero design, bicycle design etc. The club has conducted various events within NSSCE, which aims to give the student members an exposure to newer concepts within automotive industry. The club also has 2 technical advisors from the faculty of Mechanical Engineering department under whose guidance the SAE Collegiate Club plans its events . There has been enthusiastic participation from the student members in all events under SAE .
