IEEE STUDENTS CHAPTERINDIAN SOCIETY FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION
Student Chapter of IEEE ( Institution of Electronics & Electrical Engineering, USA ) is very active in the campus. The student chapter maintain an IEEE library. Several IEEE transactions and Magazines are being subscribed in the IEEE library. The IEEE student's chapter frequently conducts technical seminars, paper contests, workshops, training programmes etc. Student members are also actively participating in the paper contests and conferences conducted by various other IEEE student branches. There is a Staff advisor to monitor the activities of the student's branch.IE(I) STUDENTS CHAPTER
The Institution of Engineers (India) has Students Chapters all over India. The NSS College of Engineering membership is open to all students. The Students Chapter at this Institution has a total strength of about 1000 members. In recent years this chapter has been arranging the following programmes.
* Industrial/ Field visit for students * Seminar/Symposium/ Technical paper sessions * Personality development programmes * Other academic and cultural programmes for students
ISTE PALAKKAD CHAPTER Indian Society for Technical Education, Palakkad Chapter has been established in the Year 1973. From its inception, the society has been playing a key role to propagate and promote academic and co-academic standards in the Institution. Regular activities organized by the chapter help the members to gather and exchange ideas associated with Technical education. The members of the chapter have represented Kerala section, so also in the National Committee of ISTE. From the year 1985 onwards, the institution consistently offers short courses and training programmes to enable the concerned to review and update their knowledge as well as database. Performance appraisal and development systems, communication skills, creativity and leadership qualities are frequently the topics of discussion in the regular meetings. Lectures by external faculty from reputed Institutions in and around the State has added effectiveness to the result oriented venture of the chapter.
ACTIVITIES OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT CELL- EDC
The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of NSSCE has been established with the objective of creating, fostering and promoting the spirit of entrepreneurship among the youth of our college. It is one of the top most EDC in the state with a motto of “BE YOUR OWN BOSS”. The cell has already taken rapid strides in cultivating entrepreneurial temper and has succeeded in carving a niche for itself. The cell has organized a plethora of events under its aegis since its inception and these events have witnessed healthy participation from our own students and also from other colleges. The cell was instrumental in creating an environment conducive for entrepreneurial thinking and action through the organization of a variety of programs. It includes entrepreneurship-oriented workshops and events on areas such as idea & innovation competitions, discussions with successful entrepreneurs, business plan contests, case studies, business quizzes, social entrepreneurship issues and solutions etc. The success of these events has boosted our confidence; so that we could mould twenty seven student start-ups under various engineering disciplines.
The major achievement is that Entrepreneurship Development Club (EDC) of our college has been recognized by the Directorate of Industries and Commerce, Government of Kerala on 2 nd September, 2014. It has also been approved by Technopark Technology Business Incubator (T-TBI) on 10 th February, 2015 and later by Kerala Startup Mission on 2016. This will help our college to take a lead role in spreading the message of innovation, incubation and the entrepreneurship among the students in the college and the surrounding region.

WOMEN DEVELOPMENT CELL NSSCE PALAKKAD
Women Development Cell is an empowerment cell focusing on the development of girl students in all aspects.OBJECTIVES OF THE CELL
1 To prevent sexual harassment and to promote general well-being of female students 2 To create social awareness about the problems of women and in particular regarding gender discrimination. 3 To organize seminars, workshops for creating general awareness and orientation of students for their active and sustained participation in the activities of Cell. 4 To organize various types of training programmes like karate training , stiching etc.
The WDC of NSSCE along with BHAVANA -teachers forum conducted a women empowerment program on 11-9- 2015 and many dignitaries gave their valuable speeches. Asian games gold medal winner Preeja Sreedharan was the chief guest. Also there was the official logo launch of WDC NSSCE.
The Intellectual Property cell (IPR Cell) of NSSCE is established with financial and technical support of Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment (KSCSTE), Govt. of Kerala in the year 2010-2011. The main objective of the cell is to create awareness on the importance of creativity and innovation which leads to patents among the budding engineers in particular and the general community of the neighbouring regions of this college. Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment (KSCSTE), Govt. of Kerala has evaluated the activities of all the 23 IPR cells in various colleges and Universities in Kerala for the past 5 years and selected IPR cell of NSS College of Engineering as the best IPR Cell in Kerala for the year 2017. The appreciation is for the discriminating awareness of significance of IPR among students, encouraging students to do innovative projects, scouting potential IP’s from students, providing guidance to students on protecting intellectual citations and forwarding eligible cases of IP protection to PIC/kSCSTE Awards Received in the field of Innovation: Indian Automotive Technology Innovation Award, 2016, Innovation Leadership Award, 2015 Name, Designation & Contact Details of the IPR Cell

WILD LIFE AND FORESTRY CLUB
Wild life and forestry club of the institution has put its imprint in the minds of student community. Making the involvement of students for the noble causes, nature conservation and environmental protection is the main aim of Wild Life and Forestry club of the institution. The club of this college is organizing tours to various places of interest and is conducting pencil drawing, tree planting, essay competition, film shows etc. on relevant subjects. Presently there are nearly 75 active members and a staff in charge in the college.
NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS)
National Service Scheme Activities 2019-20
National Service Scheme under the University of Calicut was introduced in the college during the academic year 1972-1973. With the formation of National Service Scheme Technical cell under the Department of Technical Education, Govt. of Kerala, N.S.S unit of the college was put under the technical cell form the academic year 1988-1989 onwards. A second unit was also started during this period. The aim of the N.S.S is “Education Through Community Service”. The overall objective of the N.S.S is educational. Service to the community is the activity through which this objective is sought to be attained. The more specific objectives of the National Service Scheme are to arouse the student's social conscience and to provide him with the opportunity -
* to work with and among people * to engage in creative and constructive social action * to enhance his/ her knowledge of himself and the community through a confrontation with reality * to put his/ her scholarship to practical use in solving at least some of the social problems * to gain skills in the exercise of democratic leadership * to gain skills in programme development to enable him/her to get self employed
Participation in the N.S.S is voluntary. Department of Technical Education will award a certificate to the volunteer for the participation in N.S.S provided if he/she completes 240 hrs of regular N.S.S work and attends a special camp with minimum of 10 days duration. During the last 29 years of N.S.S activities of the college, various programmes were sufficiently completed with the active participation of the volunteers. Some of the important programmes were, construction of ESP type latrines for the poor, free tuition classes for school going children, tapioca cultivation and free distribution, formation of rural citizens forum, National saving scheme, Voluntary readership training programme, health and family education programme, special nutrition feeding centre for 200 children below the age of six, plantation of seedlings, free medical check-up camp, traffic education training programme, adult education programme, blood donation, cancer awareness programme, drug abuse prevention programme, literacy programme, AIDS awareness programme, career guidance programme and art and literacy programme.
SOCIETY OF AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERS
The Society of Automotive Engineers India or SAEINDIA is India's leading resource for mobility technology. The SAE Collegiate Club NSSCE under SAEINDIA, started out on 27 th July 2019, and aims to provide practical exposure to students interested in the automotive and transport industry. The Club has been very active since its inception and has conducted many events within the campus. It has also sent teams to the inter college competition under SAEINDIA SOUTHERN SECTION. The Club has had wide participation since the beginning and had about 100+ members in its formation. Within a year of its inception, SAE Collegiate Club has had professionals from Siemens, Ashok Leyland, Hero Motocorp , KAMCO etc. The talks by these eminent professionals from industry from major companies is a notable feature of the club.
The various activities under the SAE Collegiate Club are:
* Talks by experts and professionals from the industry. * Workshops to give hands on learning experience * Student Convention ,conducted annually, has a large number of events as per SAEINDIA guidel * Has sent teams for competitions under SAEINDIA such as aero design, bicycle design etc. The club has conducted various events within NSSCE, which aims to give the student members an exposure to newer concepts within automotive industry. The club also has 2 technical advisors from the faculty of Mechanical Engineering department under whose guidance the SAE Collegiate Club plans its events . There has been enthusiastic participation from the student members in all events under SAE .
THE COLLEGE CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY
With a view of encouraging habits of thrift and self-help in students and also to disseminate knowledge of co-operative principles among them, a Co-operative society has been established. Membership of the society is open to all students and members of the staff of the college. The society deals in all requirements of students including notebooks, textbooks, drawing materials and other stationery articles.Committee for the prevention of discrimination against any community or category of students
As per the directions of the university grants commission and university of Calicut, the following college level committee is constituted for the prevention of discrimination against any community or category of students in the institution. If any students of this institution have any such complaints they are advised to hand over their complaints to any of the committee members or register their complaints in the register available with administrative assistant in the college office.
